Life-Saving Basics Every Mumbaikar Should Know
CPR
Push hard in the centre of the chest, 5–6 cm deep, 100–120 times per minute. Continue until help arrives.
Bleeding Control
Apply firm direct pressure with a clean cloth. Raise the wound above heart level. Do not remove a soaked cloth — add more layers.
Choking (Heimlich)
Stand behind the person, make a fist above the navel, and give quick upward thrusts.
Burns
Cool under running water for 20 minutes. Never use ice, butter, oil or toothpaste.
